Bridgette and Aaron's Wedding - August 27, 2010

Bridgette and Aaron exchanged vows this last Friday at their local church.  As true in most latin weddings I've been to, everyone was a good 20 mins late.  Oh well, most weddings never start on time anyways!!  What's the rush really??  Anyhoo, the wedding went smoothly and we took some fun pictures at the alter with the wedding party.  I had suggested that we do some pictures at the marina near where their reception was going to be!  The marina I had in mind turns out to be the same marina where their reception hall was. What a coincidence!??  As I was packing up my camera, I put it in my not so sturdy Shootsac, and I slung it over my shoulder, the camera came flying out and landed right on the end of the lens.  You know how those moments in time just slow down as you see fate unfolding in front of you!!/??  Well, that jammed up my camera lens! I have to send it back to Nikon for repair now and it's probably going to cost me another $500. This sucks but I unjam it enough to finish out the night with this lens..
Well, we had some fun with the whole wedding party on the marina with what little daylight we had left.  We all just walked to the reception afterwards.  How convenient! The rest of the night was fun but it ended early, around 11. since it ended early, I took the happy couple out the marina near some boats to capture some last minute pictures before I was done.  Here are some from that night!

Naomi and John Card Wedding - Aug 7, 2010

Naomi and John had their wedding at Second Baptist Church.  I really like this church b/c the the bride's room is full of picture opportunities.  It's also really big so no one is feeling really cramped. We arrived a couple of hours before the wedding and captured her getting ready.  One of my favorites weddings last year, Mike and Liz Martin, was also at this church.  The sanctuary itself is really well lit, which makes pictures a lot easier. We often have to work in dimly lit churches and that's always really tough.  After the ceremony, the whole wedding party left in a Trolley.  That was really cool.  They made their way to Minute Maid Park where they had their reception.  It took me a while to realize why they had their reception at Minute Maid.  Naomi didn't come across as a huge baseball fan when I met her initially. Well it turns out that her father, Terry Puhl, played for the Astros many years ago.  That was really cool to find that out.  Well another interesting development that day, Craig Biggio, Phil Garner and the iconic Nolan Ryan, was also there for this wedding reception!!  That was really cool to see them there.  The coordinator there, allowed us to go down to the Dugout and have the whole wedding party stand atop the visitor's dugout for a once in a lifetime picture! That was really cool!!  Overall the wedding was really cool and I think everyone had an awesome time.  One of my favorite parts of the wedding was the last dance the couple shared together in an empty room, as all the guests were ushered downstairs to prepare for their exit!  They took that moment to have one last dance alone. That was really sweet!!
here are some of the images from that day!
