Bridal Extravaganza

Hey everyone,
How is the New year treating you?? I got back from Buenos aires on January 2nd after 1 week of eating and inbibing their delicious wine!! After a week down there, I was prepared to move down there. It's such a beautiful country and the cost of living is so low. The fashion boutiques down there and the food are so cheap that I shopped like a feign and ate like a king for almost nothing. I came back to Houston rejuvenated and ready for another year of work and photography.

We started off the year with the Bridal Extravaganza Show this last weekend at the George R Brown Convention Center. As always, there were lots of really excited brides. Despite the so called "recession", brides are still getting married and just as excited as ever. As photographers, we thought that there were not going to be as many brides at the Show this year, but we saw a suprisingly large number of brides both days of the show!! I had one of my favorite brides help me at the show again, Courtney. She's such a happy person that you can't help but smile and laugh when she's around. Well, we got some really great leads and many brides very interested in working with us on their wedding. It was great to hear that many of the brides saw our ad in the new Houston Brides magazine. Now, the real work begins with following up with all the brides and scheduling appointments.

Here are some useful Tips for Selecting a Wedding Photographer


1. Obviously, you must like the images that you see!! Do you like their style!! Do you look at their images and say, “Wow, that couple looks like they’re having so much fun!” or “Wow, that couple looks so in love!” Are they fun and full of emotion or do they look stiff and formal? Do the images capture the emotion and personality of the couple.

2. Personality of the photographer – One of the most important things that most brides overlook is whether they get a long with the photographer that will be a part of their day. You will be spending a lot of time with the photographer, sharing a lot special moments with fiancé during your engagement sessions, at your bridal session and of course, many hours on your wedding day. You will want someone that you enjoy being around, someone with a personality that you will get a long with. Not only are they there to capture your special moments but can be the difference between a stressful day of taking pictures or a day of fun with your favorite people. Take the time to talk to your photographer and make sure you talk to the person that will be taking pictures at your wedding.
