Davis Wedding at St. Paul's Church

Yesterday was a fun fun day at Nicole and Myron's wedding. Nicole and Myron exchanged vows at the beautiful St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston Museum District area. I had been there once before for a another wedding last year and absolutely love that place for weddings. The architecture is gorgeous and the locations for images are endless.
Nicole and Myron are some of the most genuinely sweet people you'll ever meet. I've thoroughly enjoyed the time we've spent together over the last couple of months. Everyone in the wedding party was so much fun to work with. I got to run around with the guys before the ceremony, hanging out outside the church and in different little areas taking fun, GQ images. All these guys had swagger and style. As you can see from the images, they got some model in each of them. Of course the girls were not to be outdone and they definitely took it up another notch. We got so many fun shots outside with the whole wedding party after the ceremony before heading to the Crowne Plaza hotel in Downtown for the reception. During the reception, we sneaked the couple out to the hotel lobby area for some fun together. We love to do this to really get them some alone time together and of course explore the venue for some interesting shots.
Here are some images from that wedding. Find more images on my Facebook page.
Until next time.

Bridal Session at Bell Tower on 34th Street

Yesterday I had a bridal session at the newly renovated venue called The Bell Tower on 34th. It's a Tuscany/Old World style place that's something like 25000 sq.ft. It's been beautifully decorated. Needless to say, there were many spots to take pictures. We had a beautiful bride Liz. Her wedding images are available at their website. She never did bridals before the wedding so we wanted to do some after the wedding. That's how I can actually post these so quickly after the session itself. Normally I don't post bridal session images in any place until after the wedding!!

here are some images from yesterday's session. Of course there will be many more to come in the coming week.

Bell Tower on 34th Open House

Yesterday, I attended the open house held by The Bell Tower on 34th. For those of you who were around about a year ago, this place used to be called the Tuscany of Garden Oaks or something like that before it went bankrupt under the previouse owner, who also owned Bella Terraza. For those not familiar with that story, the owner was not finished building the Tuscany place when Hurricane Ike hit around September of last year and was financially hurt by the natural disaster, so much so that he closed both locations down. Of course, both closures happened without any prior warning and most brides scheduled to have their weddings at either locations did not hear about the closures from the owners but through the various vendors they were working with. Many brides lost all the money they gave as a down payment, and most had no recourse. Worst, they really had no location to have their wedding!! Not many places could accommodate a wedding with less than a month's notice. Insert the whole Ike disaster to the mix and you have a lot of really stressed and bitter brides who just wanted to have a wedding. Anyways, the Bell Tower on 34th was bought by now owners Angela and Roger after the disaster and they've done an amazing job finishing the building and making it ready for weddings. With a Tuscany old world decor and feel, the place will undoubtedly be a beautiful backdrop for any wedding. All the rooms and ballrooms are so well decorated and I think it will soon be one of the premier places in Houston to have a wedding. it's so gorgeous!!! I will be doing a bridal session there this weekend. I can't wait.
I don't think they have a website just yet but if you search wedddings in Houston website , I'm sure you can find information on it!!
Cheers

Surprise and Studio Fun with Krystal

Recently I surprised my girlfriend with a fun studio session where we took pictures of ourselves. Probably like most couples, we mostly had pictures of us together in the standard "lean in, with drink in hand" pictures while at some restaurant or bar or club, taken with a friend's digital camera. Usually you could just put a different shirt on us and and new background and it would essentially be the same shot. I was teasing her about that and how all our pictures didn't vary very much. Of course being a photographer, I just couldn't have that!! So I decide to do a high key session in studio for fun and to get some great pictures of us together, something I could actually frame without being teased by my other photog friends. hehehe.
Here are some of the shots from that session. of course, they were taken by the timer on my new Nikon D700 camera( it's so sweet!!).
