Olivia and Nick Wedding at the Gallery

Wow, what a great day!  Olivia and Nick are so much fun to work with. They are both so laid back and that makes my day easy.  It's when people start stressing and worrying too much about things that they have no control over is when they stop enjoying the day for what it really is, a celebration and coming together of loved ones.  It is why I love weddings so much, it's such an amazing time in their lives and I'm here to document it.
Again, they saw each other before the wedding, which apparently was a surprise to Nick b/c he was clueless when I asked him if he was ready to see her.  Luckily he and his grooms man were all dressed and ready to go.  He said it really calmed his nerves down after he saw her.  We roamed around the facility for a little photo shoot before the wedding.  I always prefer having this time with the couple prior to the wedding without having to rush through it, which is always the case when we have to shoot after the ceremony.  Well I had a lot of fun with them during the shoot and then we had the early evening ceremony.  The weather was absolutely perfect outside for a wedding, with the sun setting in the horizon.  Well it was another great wedding with a crazy party to ensue at The Gallery .  I've always liked this venue.  There are beautiful backdrops and just a great layout for a party!!

I loved her bouquet, it was quite stunning. The colors are so vibrant. I have not idea what those flowers were but they are amazing.

I always love those flower balls. I still have no idea how they make them!!

I love that really cool head piece she has on!!

Leticia and Gerson Wedding

Another beautiful fall day.  I met Leticia through one of my best friends Eric, who happens to be the owner of Kharisma Hair Studio, where Leticia works. I've known Letty for several years but never got to really know her until I worked with her.  I knew this wedding was going to be lots of fun b/c a lot of people from the Kharisma Salon will be there and they are all really crazy fun people.
The day started at the hotel where both Letty and Gerson were getting married.  Of course, some of the friends and family of the salon did the makeup and hair.  After all the getting ready, we did the First Look just outside the hotel.  It was a really sweet moment when they saw each other for the first time and Gerson got on his knees and kissed her hand. The look on her face is priceless. You can just tell he treats her so well and they are so in love!!  I just love those moments. It's what makes it all worth it!!

Letty and Gerson got married at the Immaculate conception church, which I had worked at before and really liked. It's a really beautiful church.  The priest there is not a native spanish speaker but he speaks perfect spanish. I can tell he isn't a native speaker b/c he is perfectly clear in his annunciation and pronunciation which you don't normally get with native speakers. It was interesting watching him during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, I had some extra time with the couple and wedding party.  I found some cool things along the way to the reception hall, Gran Imperial.  We actually found a perfect spot across the street from the facility on this grassy field! It was really quite perfect!! The rest of the night was loads of fun with crazy dancing antics by everyone and then the props came out...  too much fun!!

I love those Hispanic weddings b/c they always have props and that just adds so much to people acting silly!! It's good to act like a kid sometimes!!

Lauren and Jimmy - Hanging out in the Heights

This past Saturday, I met up with Lauren and Jimmy up at Onion Creek to do their engagement session.  It was my first time to meet Jimmy, but we instantly hit it off! He was a little tired having just come off his night shift at work.  He took a 5 hour energy a couple hours prior to the session so he was good to go!! I have never taken that stuff but I know some people swear by them!! I prefer redbull or Monsters.
I found out Jimmy and Lauren met through a mutual friend.  He told me that he knew she was the one when he first saw her. That was really cool to hear that from a guy.  Unfortunately for him, it was not necessarily love at first sight for her.  After a little courtship, he did win her over with his charm and charisma.  He told me that when he showed her his "geeky" toys, i.e. star wars and Lord of the rings toys, she was pretty cool with it!  "She's a keeper!!"  She passed the litmus test with flying colors!! That was so funny!!  They were so cute together and was game for anything.  It was really cool when he pulled out his guitar and played a little bit.  I guess a little guitar playing does get the girl!!  The session was a blast and here the images from it!!

Exploring Midtown with Meghan and Juan

Last Sunday morning, I picked up Meghan and Juan for their engagement session. It was quite an early morning, but I got some frappucino at this coffee shop that woke me right up!!  Since I had picked them up in midtown, I thought I'd shoot in that area since I have never really explored that area on an engagement session. Of course I've been to midtown many times going to all the bars and restaurants that area has to offer but when I go as a photographer, what I look for is totally different than going for a brewsky.  We were really lucky as there are many buildings and structures there that old and full of character. I loved shooting in that area b/c all the houses and businesses in that area have so much personality to them and there is so much development in that area that there are abandoned homes right across from new condos and townhomes.  Anyhoo, we had perfect weather and a really good time.  I think I will have to explore this area further.  Well here are some images from that session!
