A Beautiful day at Burkeshire Plantation!

I had never been to Burkeshire Plantation before this day.  It wasn't too difficult to find but it was up in Conroe, an area I don't get to go to much.  It's a beautiful plantation home that the owners actually live in but rent out for events and other social gatherings.  It's a cool three story antebellum style home that is a museum of americana.  Each room had collectible items that reflect the colorful and varied history of our country.  There was everything from signed football helmets to rifles to model of old trains and tanker trucks.  So each room you walked into, it was something new and different!! So cool.  The guys were dressing upstairs while the girls had their own little room to the side of the house.  Jason and Allison wanted to do our "First Look" where they saw each other before the wedding itself.  We scoped out a location to the side of the home where they can get a little bit of privacy when the saw each other and get a couple of alone minutes.  Both were very nervous but once they saw each other, everything was good!!  Neither was nervous anymore.  That's what I love about the first look, it's great for calming down the nerves of everyone!!

A cool little side fact for you.  Both Jason and Allison are airline pilots as were some of their friends.  They met while both were instructors. So they are both super busy with their unpredictable flight schedules and scheduling shoots with them require a little bit of flexibility.  It's always cool to hear some of their funny stories about flying and meeting some of the other pilots recount their crazy stories.

The ceremony was outside on the gazebo to the left of the house and the ensuing reception was under the white tent in front of the home.  It was a chilly nite so they brought out the space heaters for everyone.  The party had great music and lots of dancing.  Albeit a little chilly, everyone hung out outside near the dancefloor most of the nite.  Overall, it was a really fun nite and I am excited to show Jason and Allison their images soon!!
